The Miracle League of Richmond, Virginia provides safe recreational opportunities for children with disabilities.
Our Richmond sports complex includes a custom-designed field with a cushioned rubberized surface to help prevent injuries, wheelchair accessible dugouts, and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually impaired players.
The field is Sofscape rubberized turf, perfect for wheelchair use. It is
ADA compliant and
completely enclosed for our participants safety.
The Miracle League’s "Boundless Playground", the first such facility in Richmond, is currently under construction in the Miracle League complex. Scheduled to open in April 2010, the playground provides a barrier-free playground area where children, with and without disabilities, can develop essential skills for life as they learn to play together.
A Boundless Playground is a wonderful way to bring kids together, to eliminate bias, and to provide another opportunity for inclusion and fun!
The Miracle League facility removes all barriers and opens doors for many families whose children have never participated in an organized sport within an organized league. It is located at Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation’s L C Bird High School Athletic Complex. Children between the ages of 3 and 21 with physical or intellectual challenges from Richmond and surrounding counties are welcomed.
